Management Team

Wendy Kautz-Wheeler

Executive Director

Wendy joined the Young Families team in January of 2019. Wendy has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York and comes with years of experience in financials, marketing, and human resources. Wendy worked with children with disabilities for a total of eight years in both school and residential treatment settings. Wendy has significant experience working with children ages birth to five as she has been a foster parent for the last ten years. In her free time, Wendy loves to hike/camp with her three adopted sons and her three foster sons. Wendy rarely has a dull moment in her life!

Catherine Knobel

Education Team Leader and Disabilities Coordinator

Catherine has a Bachelor of Science in Human Services, a Master of Science in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University Billings, and an Early Childhood Certificate from the University of Montana Western.  Catherine has been a Human Services professional for 20 years, working in various capacities.  In 2020, she completed the Montana Early Childhood Apprenticeship Program (MECAP) and has taught at Head Start and Early Head Start since 2019.  She is married and has a daughter.  As a family, they enjoy camping and travel adventures.  In her free time, she enjoys playing in the community band.  Catherine also loves coffee, books and music.  

Heather Krueger

Family Development Specialist

Heather Krueger was born in Billings and has spent her life here. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s of Education Degree in Early Childhood education. She has worked in the early childhood field at Young Families/Early Head Start and Explorers Academy since 1998. She is currently the Family Development Specialist at Young Families and helps families navigate the enrollment process, establish and meet personal goals, and supports parents in their role as their child’s first and most important teacher. Heather has a twenty-six-year-old son and a pet fish about half that age. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and taking frequent naps.

Quinn Curry

Director of Health and Wellness

Quinn Curry is the Director of Health and Wellness Services. She has been with the team since August 2011. Quinn taught in the classroom for one year before taking her current position as DHWS. Quinn spent most of her youth in Yakima, Washington before moving to Bozeman for college in 2005. After meeting her now husband her sophomore year of college, Quinn moved to Billings to complete her education. She has lived happily in Billings since 2007. Quinn has a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education from Montana State University Billings. When Quinn is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
